HOW PERMIT RECOGNITION WORKS
Source-based research. Clearer answers. Safer travel decisions.
This first version covers selected out-of-state recognition rules, not a nationwide eligibility check. It distinguishes the permit issuer, your home state and permit residency.
We checked the linked state-agency guidance on September 14, 2026. The checker stops returning positive results after 30 days without a new review. Changes can occur sooner: recheck before travel.
Source-based methodology
Our checker shows what the available sources indicate, but it does not determine your legal eligibility to carry. Laws can change and interpretations may vary.
Results are not legal advice
If your permit, state or travel plans aren't covered, visit the destination state's official website for the most current and complete information.
